Six Pillars of Safe Play

crikey's responsible gaming framework rests on six foundational principles that shape every decision we make about how players interact with our platform.

18+ Strict Age Policy

All crikey players must be at least 18 years old. We verify age during KYC and actively prevent underage access to our platform across all devices used in Bangladesh.

Flexible Deposit Limits

Set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits on your crikey account at any time. Limits take effect immediately and can only be increased after a mandatory 7-day cooling-off period.

Self-Exclusion Tools

Choose to self-exclude your crikey account for a defined period (30 days, 90 days, 6 months, 1 year) or permanently. During exclusion, you cannot access your account or receive any marketing from us.

Session Time Reminders

crikey lets you set session time reminders so you receive a notification after a defined period of continuous play. Taking regular breaks is one of the most effective ways to stay in control.

Reality Check Prompts

Our built-in reality check feature displays your net session result (total wagered versus total won) at regular intervals, helping you stay aware of your actual financial position during each session.

Dedicated Support Team

Our player protection team is available around the clock. If you feel gambling is becoming a problem, contact us at [email protected] — we will assist you immediately without judgement.

Section 01 Our Commitment to Safe Play

crikey exists to provide entertaining, fair, and exciting online casino and sports betting experiences for adult players across Bangladesh. From the BPL season to everyday slots sessions, we want every interaction with our platform to be a positive one. However, we also recognise that for a small number of players, gambling can become something other than entertainment — and that is a reality we take very seriously.

Our responsible gaming programme is not a box-ticking exercise. It is a core part of how crikey operates. We invest in technology, training, and processes that allow us to identify players who may be at risk, offer them meaningful support tools, and — where necessary — restrict or suspend their access to the platform for their own protection.

crikey's responsible gaming policy applies to every player registered on the platform, regardless of their location within Bangladesh — whether they are in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, or any other part of the country. Our commitment to player welfare is not conditional on the size of a player's account or how often they play.

Gambling should be entertainment, not a financial strategy. Every game on the crikey platform — from slots and Andar Bahar to cricket betting — involves risk. There is no guaranteed system or strategy that produces consistent winnings. Never gamble with money you cannot afford to lose, and never chase losses by increasing your bets or deposit amounts.

We encourage every crikey player to approach gambling with a clear budget and a defined time limit before each session. Decide in advance how much time and money you are prepared to spend, and stop when you reach either limit — regardless of whether you are ahead or behind. This simple habit is the single most effective practice for keeping gambling enjoyable over the long term.

Section 02 18+ Age Restriction Policy

Adults Only — 18 Years or Older

crikey is strictly an adult platform. No person under the age of 18 is permitted to register, deposit funds, place bets, or participate in any game or promotion offered by crikey. Violation of this policy will result in immediate account closure and forfeiture of any balances held.

crikey enforces its minimum age requirement of 18 years at every stage of the player lifecycle. During registration, all players must confirm their date of birth and agree that they meet the minimum age requirement. Before processing a first withdrawal, every player must complete our Know Your Customer (KYC) identity verification process, which includes submission of a valid Bangladesh National Identity Card (NID), passport, or government-issued driving licence — all of which confirm date of birth.

Protecting Young People

If you share a device with younger family members — whether in Dhaka, Cox's Bazar, or anywhere else in Bangladesh — we strongly encourage you to use device-level parental controls and browser filtering tools to prevent underage access to gambling websites, including crikey. Always log out of your crikey account when you are not actively using it, and never share your login credentials with others.

If crikey has reasonable grounds to suspect that a registered account is being operated by a person under the age of 18, we will immediately suspend the account pending a full identity verification review. Any funds deposited by an underage player will not be returned, and the account will be permanently closed.

Reporting underage access: If you believe a minor is accessing crikey, please report this immediately to [email protected]. We investigate all such reports promptly and take immediate protective action where necessary.

Section 03 Recognising Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can affect anyone, regardless of background, income level, or how long they have been playing. It develops gradually and can be difficult to recognise in yourself. The first step to getting help is understanding the warning signs. crikey has compiled the following indicators based on widely recognised responsible gambling frameworks.

Common Warning Signs

  • Spending more money on gambling than you originally planned or can afford
  • Borrowing money from friends, family, or financial services to fund gambling
  • Feeling anxious, irritable, or restless when you are not gambling
  • Chasing losses — continuing to play after losing in the hope of winning back what you lost
  • Gambling to escape stress, loneliness, boredom, or difficult emotions
  • Lying to friends or family members about how much time or money you spend gambling
  • Neglecting work, study, family responsibilities, or personal health because of gambling
  • Repeatedly failing to keep to your own spending or time limits when gambling
  • Feeling that you need to bet increasingly large amounts to experience the same level of excitement
  • Experiencing guilt or shame after gambling sessions

If you recognise three or more of the above signs in your own behaviour, we strongly encourage you to use crikey's self-exclusion tool or to contact our player protection team for guidance. You do not need to have reached a crisis point before seeking help.

Self-Assessment

Use the questions below to reflect honestly on your current relationship with gambling. This is not a clinical diagnostic tool — it is a starting point for self-reflection.

Honest Self-Assessment Questions

1
Have you ever spent more on gambling than you intended to within a single session or week?
2
Have you gambled to recover money lost in a previous session?
3
Has gambling caused any tension, arguments, or concern within your household or with close friends?
4
Have you ever missed work, study, or an important personal commitment because of gambling?
5
Have you borrowed money or sold personal items to fund gambling activity?
6
Do you feel that you need to gamble with larger amounts over time to get the same level of enjoyment?
7
Have you attempted to stop or reduce gambling but found it difficult to do so?

If you answered "yes" to two or more of these questions, please consider using our self-exclusion tool or reaching out to our player protection team at [email protected]. Help is available, and using these tools is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Section 04 Player Protection Tools

crikey provides a comprehensive suite of player protection tools that are accessible directly from your account settings at any time. These tools are designed to give you full control over how you interact with the platform — before, during, and after each session. All limits and restrictions applied through these tools are enforced immediately at the platform level and cannot be circumvented.

Section 05 Self-Exclusion Programme

Self-exclusion is the most powerful player protection tool available on crikey. It is designed for players who feel that they need a meaningful break from gambling — whether for a defined period or permanently. Once activated, self-exclusion cannot be reversed before its expiry date, and crikey will take all reasonable steps to prevent access to your account during the exclusion period.

Available Self-Exclusion Periods

  • 30 Days — A one-month break from the platform
  • 90 Days — A three-month break for players who need more time to reflect
  • 6 Months — A half-year exclusion for serious concerns
  • 1 Year — A full twelve-month exclusion period
  • Permanent Exclusion — Your account is closed indefinitely with no re-opening option

What Happens During Self-Exclusion?

Once self-exclusion is activated on your crikey account, the following restrictions are applied immediately and enforced at the platform level:

  • You cannot log in to your crikey account from any device or browser
  • You cannot make any deposits or place any bets
  • All pending bonus offers and promotions tied to your account are cancelled
  • You will be removed from all crikey marketing email lists and will not receive any promotional communications
  • Any funds remaining in your account balance at the time of self-exclusion will be held securely and returned to you at the end of the exclusion period (or immediately, upon request, for permanent exclusions)

Re-Opening After Self-Exclusion

For temporary self-exclusion periods (30 days to 1 year), your account may be re-opened after the exclusion period has fully elapsed. To re-open your account, you must contact the crikey player protection team at [email protected] in writing. crikey enforces a mandatory 24-hour reflection period between your re-opening request and actual account reactivation — this cooling-off window exists to ensure the request is intentional and considered. Permanent exclusions cannot be reversed under any circumstances.

Attempting to circumvent self-exclusion by creating a new crikey account during an active exclusion period is a violation of crikey's Terms and Conditions. Any account identified as a duplicate created to bypass self-exclusion will be immediately closed and any balance forfeited. If you are in self-exclusion and find yourself attempting to gamble, please reach out for support — you have already taken the hard first step.

How to Activate Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion can be activated in three ways: (1) directly through your account settings under Account → Responsible Gaming → Self-Exclusion; (2) by emailing [email protected] with the subject line "Self-Exclusion Request" and specifying your preferred exclusion period; or (3) by contacting our live chat support team, who will apply the exclusion to your account immediately. All self-exclusion requests are processed within one hour of receipt, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Section 06 Deposit and Spending Limits

Setting a deposit limit is one of the most practical and immediately effective ways to keep your gambling within a budget you are comfortable with. crikey supports three types of deposit limit periods, all of which can be configured independently to give you flexible, layered control over your spending.

Limit Types

  • Daily Deposit Limit: The maximum total amount (in BDT) that can be deposited in any 24-hour rolling period
  • Weekly Deposit Limit: The maximum total deposited across any 7-day rolling period
  • Monthly Deposit Limit: The maximum total deposited in any 30-day rolling period

How Limits Work

When you set a deposit limit, it takes effect immediately. If you attempt to deposit an amount that would exceed your active limit, the transaction will be declined and you will be shown your current limit and remaining allowance for the period. You can always deposit less than your limit — the limit is a ceiling, not a target.

To reduce your deposit limit, the change is applied instantly. To increase a deposit limit, crikey enforces a mandatory 7-day waiting period before the higher limit becomes active. This asymmetry is intentional — it protects you from making impulsive decisions during a session by preventing immediate access to higher deposit allowances.

Recommended Starting Limits for Bangladesh Players

crikey recommends that all new players set a deposit limit before playing for the first time. A sensible starting point is to consider your monthly disposable entertainment budget — the amount you can genuinely afford to spend on leisure activities — and divide it into daily and weekly limits accordingly. For example, a player comfortable spending ৳3,000 per month on entertainment might set a daily limit of ৳200 and a weekly limit of ৳750 to distribute that budget evenly over the month.

Tip: Setting both a deposit limit and a loss limit together gives you the strongest financial protection. The deposit limit controls how much you put in, and the loss limit controls how much of that you can lose in a single period — a two-layer safety net that many responsible players find extremely helpful.

Tips for Staying in Control

  • Always decide on your budget and time limit before you start a session — not during it
  • Never gamble when you are feeling stressed, upset, tired, or under the influence of alcohol
  • Treat gambling as entertainment, not as a source of income or a way to solve financial problems
  • Keep track of your wins and losses honestly — our transaction history tool shows your full activity
  • Take regular breaks during longer sessions, even if you have not hit your session time limit yet
  • Talk openly with someone you trust if you feel gambling is becoming more than just a game
  • Use the reality check feature to stay aware of how much time and money you have spent
  • If you ever feel the urge to chase losses, log out immediately and activate a cooling-off period

You are not alone. Gambling problems are more common than most people realise, and they are not a sign of weakness or poor character. Many players across Bangladesh have used crikey's responsible gaming tools to regain control and continue enjoying the platform safely. Reaching out for help is always the right decision.

Section 08 Responsible Gaming FAQ

Below are answers to the most common questions crikey receives about our responsible gaming programme. If your question is not covered here, please visit our full FAQ page or contact the player protection team directly.

How do I set a deposit limit on my crikey account?

Log in to your crikey account and navigate to Account Settings → Responsible Gaming → Deposit Limits. Select the limit type (daily, weekly, or monthly), enter your desired limit amount in BDT, and confirm. The limit takes effect immediately. To reduce a limit, the change is instant. To increase a limit, a mandatory 7-day waiting period applies before the higher limit becomes active.

Can I self-exclude if I do not currently have a problem?

Yes. Self-exclusion is available to any crikey player at any time, for any reason. You do not need to be experiencing a crisis to use this tool. Some players choose to self-exclude as a precautionary measure during stressful life periods — such as exam season, Ramadan, or busy work periods — simply to remove the temptation to gamble when they prefer not to. We encourage proactive use of all our responsible gaming tools.

What happens to my account balance during self-exclusion?

Any funds remaining in your crikey account balance at the time of self-exclusion are held securely. For temporary exclusions, the balance is preserved and will be available when your account is re-opened after the exclusion period ends. For permanent exclusions, your balance will be returned to your registered bKash, Nagad, or other payment method upon your written request to [email protected].

Can crikey close my account if I am identified as a vulnerable player?

Yes. crikey reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or close any account where our monitoring systems or player protection team identify behaviour that suggests a player may be at risk of harm. This may include unusually rapid deposit patterns, significant loss chasing behaviour, or direct communications indicating distress. We will always attempt to contact the player before taking action where possible, but in urgent cases protective restrictions may be applied immediately.

Is responsible gaming information available in my transaction history?

Yes. Your crikey account includes a full transaction history showing every deposit, withdrawal, and wager placed. This data is available under Account → Transaction History and can be filtered by date range. Reviewing your transaction history regularly is one of the most useful habits for staying aware of your actual gambling activity and spend.

What should I do if I think a family member has a gambling problem?

If you are concerned about a family member's gambling — whether they have a crikey account or not — the most important first step is to have an open, non-judgmental conversation with them about your concern. If they are willing, encourage them to use crikey's self-exclusion or deposit limit tools. You can also contact our player protection team at [email protected] on their behalf — we will treat all such contacts with full confidentiality and provide guidance on the appropriate next steps.
